SERVICES
Developing good, mutually-trusting relationships with our patients is our first priority.
On your first visit, we'll get to know your dental history and do a thorough dental examination and workup. Our goal is to find out how to best help you build and maintain a healthy smile that will last a lifetime. We then follow up with regular appointments, consistently giving your dental health the full, professional attention it deserves.
In addition to regular cleaning and preventative check-ups -- including annual X-rays that use the latest in digital technology -- we offer a complete range of cosmetic and restorative dentistry for adults and children.
Preventative Dentistry
This is the branch of dentistry that deals with the preservation of healthy teeth and gums and the prevention of cavities and oral disease. The various procedures that are included here are diet counseling, fluoride application, routine dental cleaning, placement of sealants and oral hygiene instructions.
Cerec Onlays
These ceramic reconstructions are a wonderful solution for replacing old fillings, repairing faulty crowns, or installing new veneers to protect your teeth and extend their life. Cerec onlays have many advantages: a precise fit; an especially strong bond; a look and feel that matches the natural color and polish of your teeth; a long lifetime; and best of all, they're easy to put in-you'll be set to go after only one visit!
Dental Veneers
Dental veneers are thin covers that are placed over the front of damaged, discolored, or misaligned teeth to improve their appearance. The veneers, which are taken from molds so that they precisely match the shape of the tooth, are then bonded firmly into place once we've made sure that they look natural. The veneers we use are made of porcelain, and last up to ten years before they need replacing. Veneers are a good solution for people who would like a more permanent cosmetic solution for their teeth than simple bonding or tooth whitening, but don't need a full dental crown, which covers the entire tooth.
Dental Crowns
Crowns, as the name implies, are like fancy headgear for your teeth. A crown covers the entire exposed surface of the tooth from the gum line up. Though they're a good cosmetic dental solution, they're generally recommended only when a tooth has experienced significant damage and needs shoring up as well as a more attractive appearance. After the portions of the original tooth are shaved down, the crown is cast from a carefully applied mold to ensure a perfect and permanent fit as well as a natural look.
Gum Disease Treatment
Not only are your teeth important, but the gums that support them are crucial to your teeth's long life. Gum disease takes root in the space just below the visible gum line where your teeth and gums meet, when gaps are created by decay caused by bad dental hygiene. To avoid gum diseases such as gingivitis or the more serious periondontitis, we work proactively with our patients not only by scheduling regular cleanings, but also by giving them additional tools and recommendations for home dental care, as well as more frequent check-ups to stop gum disease before it starts.
Implant Restoration
If you have a tooth that is missing or that has been extracted, an implant can serve as an excellent, healthy replacement. Often made of titanium, an implant is a post that an oral surgeon places into the jaw bone. Once the implant has integrated with the bone, we then restore the implant. We put a dental crown over it so that you have no discomfort and no gap in your smile.
Pediatric Dentistry
We start seeing children at the age of three. The initial visit involves a comprehensive exam, a cleaning and polishing, a fluoride treatment and oral hygiene instructions. X-rays are taken as needed. A follow-up visit would be needed for any restorative or preventative work.
Root Canals
Perhaps the two words most dreaded by dental patients. While the condition that causes root canal is indeed serious, the good news is that the modern procedure to correct the condition is virtually painless. Root canals prove to be necessary when the tooth's pulp (or its "root" which is the interior of the tooth, is damaged to the point where it threatens the life of the tooth if the pulp goes untreated. A root canal involves removal of the diseased pulp, followed by a cleaning and closure of the canal that housed it (thus the procedure's name). A dental crown is then placed over the repaired tooth, and the patient's healthy smile is kept intact.
Zoom Teeth Whitening
This peroxide-based tooth-whitening method is the safest, most effective, and easiest method for giving your teeth a gorgeous white sheen. In consultation with you, we determine which discolored teeth need to be whitened and work to match them with the natural shade of your other teeth. The treatment, which involves applying a whitening agent that is activated by an infrared lamp, takes about 90 minutes and is performed in our office. Patients then maintain the Zoom treatment on their own at home with easy-to-follow steps we provide. The Zoom process has proven to be very popular with our patients.
